Spirit Keepers

You're Invited!

The Spirit Keepers invites all men to join together in building strong relationships within our church. We are an open and affirming and non-judgmental group that honors diversity and freedom of conscience among its members wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

Who we are

The Spirit Keepers started with one negative, men are leaving the Christian religion at almost twice the rate of women, and one positive, there was a core group of men committed to making the idea of a Christian men’s group a reality.

What started with a prayer also ended with a heartfelt prayer. “Our Father, may the Holy Spirit be with us today and going forward as He was on that special day of Pentecost almost 2000 years ago.”

The Spirit Keepers is a men’s forum, a relaxed, open, non-judgmental Christian group where men can share a meal and have open discussions on any issue or question related to living life. Our call to action is “as a spiritual, social,  and service group” dedicated to our church and community.

Our programs

We felt leadership was key to our ultimate success, with the leaders acting as both facilitators and shepherds of the group.

Our programming seeks to meet the spiritual and social needs of our members. This has led to both diverse and experimental programming, keeping what works and changing what doesn’t.

Projects have included the community wide “Thanksgiving Basket Brigade” during which the Spirit Keepers made, collected, and delivered over 100 baskets to area families in need. Church wide projects included spear heading the chapel restoration and helping with the wood floor refinishing among others. Outreach has included field work at the Boggy Creek camp for children in need.

Hey it’s fun!

Whether meeting as a group for pizza and bowling, or table fellowship to celebrate Octoberfest or Mardi Gras, or old fashion barbecue (sharing the grill), the men’s group has evolved to much more: it is a group of friends, now over 60 strong.
