Bible Study w/Rev. Shawn Garvey

Join Rev. Shawn for an exploration of scriptures that explore what it is to be intentional. So often we are reactionary rather than intentional. Our sacred texts have some insight into that very thing, so as we enter into our season of Lent and being intentional about being and doing something different, we’ll take a look at a number of passages that speak some wisdom to us about the value of wisely setting intentions for ourselves so our lives might be more calm, more fulfilled, and more attuned to benefiting the lives of those around us,

as well.

Creative – Flower Guild

Join members of the FCCWP Flower Guild to explore the ways that flower arranging enhances our spiritual life. For many years flowers have been used to enrich worship services and help express our love for God and the natural world. They also help remind us of the beauty of the Earth and offer a means of creative expression. Take a peek behind the scenes of how our Flower Guild prepares offerings for our worship service each Sunday. Few members have any formal training and are united only by a love of flowers and a desire to exercise their creative muscles. Come learn some basic fundamentals of flower arranging and create an arrangement of your own to take home and remind you of your Lenten intentions. Who knows? Maybe you’d like to be  the newest

member of our guild.

Health – Yoga w/Ms. Margo

The root word of Yoga, “Yuj”, first appeared in the Rig Veda (c. 1200–900 BC), originally meaning to yoke horse to carriage. Today when people hear the word yoga they most likely think of group exercise classes. In good classes people do in fact connect their body (carriage) to their power source (horse). What is your power source? The 8 limbs of Yoga is a path to personal liberation, to awakening to your True Nature, or Self-Actualization. A liberated human being has had a direct experience of their True Nature - an experience of mind-body-spirit Peace, and equanimity of polarities. Collective liberation happens when liberated individuals come together - we can only get there as a collective. We find strength and endurance by leaning on each other. Together we will do this. It is done. Ms. Margo will guide a Gentle Hatha Yoga class which focuses on the breath, gentle postures, deep relaxation, and meditation. There will be time for questions and community sharing. Please bring your mat, blanket and wear comfortable clothes.

Pre-K – K w/Ms. Sprinkle

A time with story books and art the children will go on a scavenger hunt in the courtyard finding things that Jesus Loves and God created.

- 1st – 12th Grade Youth & Children w/Ms. Christine & Ms. Cari

During Sunday School we will watch a video about the Tiffany Chapel. After lunch we will walk to the Morse Museum and see the Tiffany Chapel.

Learn about Ward Chapel Food Pantry and hear firsthand how we partner with the community.

We will also discuss our intentional food drive over the Lenten season.

Make sure you visit the Fellowship Hall Lenten “Charging Station” March 3-24, where you can add notes and pictures of your Lenten Journey or take new information each week that will guide you along the way. Special items will also be available for coffee hours treats.
