On February 9th at 12:30 p.m., you are invited to attend the Journeying Together class for a special teaching by Bassem Chabban, Professor of World Religions at Seminole State College and Director of the Peace Institute. Mr. Chabban’s teaching will not be your typical Islam 101 presentation. He will focus on interesting intersections between Islam and Christianity.

Did you know that the Qur'an, Islam’s holy scripture, includes many stories about Jesus: his birth, childhood, his identity, and his crucifixion?
Did you know that “jihad” does not mean “holy war”? It means “struggle” or “effort,” and the highest ideal of jihad is the struggle to overcome the egotistical life and conform one’s life to the will of God, much like the idea of “putting on the mind of Christ” in Christianity.
