BIBLE STUDY

9:00 am with Rev. Garvey

Each week we engage with the gospel reading for the week with a wonderful conversation involving historical, social, and cultural context as well as personal application.  This is a group that has been meeting weekly for over six years - even when Rev. Garvey is away - and is always a wonderful time to discover more about our scripture and our faith.  Join us!

JOURNEYING TOGETHER

11:30 am with Dr. Lindamood

Dr. Lindamood leads this weekly group through thought-provoking books and matters of faith; both Christian and from other world religions as well.  Her compassionate intelligence has created a true family of this gathering and it is one of the most meaningful gatherings in our church.  Discover this gathering for yourself and be part of something truly special!

W.I.N.G.S.

4:00 pm with Kerry

Twice a month our young people gather to catch up, share their experiences and their feelings, and journey through this pandemic together in their own, special way.  Some virtual experiences are in the works for the future....join the fun and stay tuned!

BOOK CLUB

7:00 pm

Book Club continues to meet monthly at 7:00 PM via Zoom Virtual meeting excluding June/July (summer break) and December (holidays). We meet on the 4th Sunday of the month. One member chooses a month, then selects the book and we read it together as a group and arrive at the meeting prepared to discuss. Our members enjoy being creative in providing information about the author and interesting historical links, facts, and stories related. There is a consistent group of about 8-10 attendees. Book Club is open to all and regular attendance is not necessary. 2020 is our 11th year of Book Club and this year’s schedule is below. We look forward to our monthly meetings and encourage participation as well as new members.

MONDAYS

Monday Meditation with Rev. Chuck Fiandaca
7:00 - 7:30 pm
“Contemplation is the practice of sinking more deeply into REALITY.” –Thomas Merton

The practice of contemplation (or meditation) is an exercise of mindfulness. With so many challenges before us, especially during this time of global crisis, how do we stay emotionally and spiritually grounded? Practicing meditation can be an effective way to balance and deepen our connection with God, one another, and all of Creation.

On Monday evenings, beginning May 25th, Chuck will lead a five- to ten- minute group meditation. He will also discuss the roots of meditation, the mechanics and terminology needed to start and/or improve your personal practice, and ways a regular meditation practice can enhance your life.

Chuck Fiandaca spent twenty years as a Franciscan priest and retreat director and now twenty-five years as a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a husband to Grace, and a stepfather (and, more recently, a grandfather!).

TUESDAYS

"Zoom and Commune" with Dr. Lindamood

 7:00 pm

In Zoom and Commune gatherings, we focus on using spiritual lessons and practices in daily life.  This happens in two ways.  First, each participant has the opportunity to “check-in” and raise any joys or concerns that he or she has encountered during the week. This is an opportunity rather than an obligation.  One may choose to participate or to listen during check-in.  We may use the life situations that are shared to focus on spiritual teachings and practices and how they can be employed for happier, more peaceful living.  Also, Dr. Lindamood sends short spiritual teaching prior to each meeting.  If participants do not need the time to process life experiences, we focus on the spiritual lesson for the evening and consider how to use it for benefit in our lives.

WEDNESDAYS

Mid-Week Fellowship with Rev. Garvey

6:30 - 7:30 pm

Every Wednesday evening we come together in fellowship to share how we're all doing and what we're thinking through this pandemic.  Bring food, drink, dress casually, don't worry about having a fancy background in your video; just bring yourself and what's on your mind any given week for an hour of conversation (and maybe a little venting!)  We all miss our coffee hour, but we have our mid-week time together so break up your week and join us!

Conversations On Race with Rev. Garvey

7:30 - 8:30 pm

An ongoing conversation on matters of Race, White Privilege, and the BLM Movement.  Often accompanied by readings and videos to digest prior to the discussion, this has become one of the best-attended sessions of the week, and it is a time for hard questions, deep introspection and authentic listening as we often invite guests to join us and speak honestly about their experiences as people of color in our nation.   In these pivotal days, this is a profoundly important hour to spend together each week as we seek to be voices of advocacy, compassion, justice, and change.

THURSDAYS
