Christina Carter holds an M.M.E. (cum laude) from the University of Central Florida and a B.M. (cum laude) from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. In addition to directing the youth, children and carol choirs here at FCCWP, Christina is an adjunct Music Professor at Rollins College and is the choral director at Trinity Preparatory School. She has been teaching private voice since 1993 and currently maintains a small, select studio of students. Christina was a member of the Bach Festival Choir of Winter Park for 10 years, holding the role of soprano section leader for 6 years. She has also performed as a member of the Bach Festival Chamber Singers and has been involved with many professional recording projects here in Orlando. She is an active choral adjudicator, freelance vocalist, and a member of NATS, FMEA, FVA and ACDA. Before moving to Orlando, Christina taught and served as the head of the Beech High School Choral Department in Hendersonville, TN, and was a freelance choreographer for musical theatre productions and competitive show choirs in the greater Nashville area. She has been conducting choirs and small orchestras since 1995 and has enjoyed performing in, conducting, and/or musical directing musical theatre productions and staged vocal performances in Orlando, Winter Park, and in Tennessee. When not enjoying her time buried in musical endeavors, she and her husband Chance love to spend time supporting their daughter Kylee in all her school, cheer and performance activities.
