August 24 – Power of the Mind (part two):
Tibetan Buddhist mind training

Mark Winwood returns to discuss the Buddhist science of mind training. He will present a 90-minute overview discussion of the Eight Verses of Thought Transformation, a 12th century text by the Kadampa Geshe Langri Tangpa, still taught and practiced today. The text is a “mind training” summary, offering practical insight into the development of loving kindness, compassion, caring, and commitment (can you say…bodhicitta??)

August 31 – Film God and Buddha

This is a filmed lecture conducted by Tibetan Buddhist scholar Robert Thurman and Indian Vedanta philosopher Deepak Chopra at Tibet House in New York City in 1999. The two talk about the similarities and differences between two of India’s most important philosophical beliefs: Vedanta and Buddhism.
