ADULT PROGRAMS

First Congregational Church of Winter Park offers a wide variety of programs and activities for people of all ages. In addition, we constantly strive to modify or adapt our programming to meet the needs of our congregation, our friends and guests. Activities for adults are outlined below.

Sunday Morning Worship - We  come together as a church family on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. in our historic Sanctuary. Our music program is directed by Dr. John Sinclair who is also Director of Music at Rollins College.  Guest musicians and vocalists are often present.

Adult Education Classes - Classes are offered most Sunday mornings during the academic year.  Rev. Bryan Fulwider's Bible Study meets at  9:00 a.m.  Rev. Dr. Sherie Lindamood's class meets at 11:30 a.m.  Other classes form periodically and are advertised in The Caillon, the weekly church bulletin and this web site.

Chancel Choir - Our adult choir is led by Dr. John Sinclair.  Our Chancel Choir sings on most Sunday mornings during the academic year and are often joined by guest soloists and musicians.  Dr. Sinclair is also Director of Music at Rollins College and Director of the Bach Festival Choir.

Joyful Noise! Wednesdays - Parents and other adults attend pottery classes, computer workshops, or discussion groups while children and youth engage in choir, liturgical dance and other activities.

Prayer Shawl Ministry - This group is open to all women of our church who enjoy knitting, quiet meditation and sharing friendships.

Lenten Series - During the Wednesday evenings of Lent we share a simple soup and bread supper and attend workshops related to our faith journey.  We begin on the Wednesday following Ash Wednesday and conclude with the high drama of Easter week.

Womens Circles - Amity Circle meets periodically and engage in study, socialize and participate in various outreach projects.

Social Justice Committee - Join with a group of adults who want to:  ".. find ways within our community, from local to world, to bring awareness and lend support to a myriad of causes that will help our world become a more humane, environmentally responsible, sustainable, economically equitable, socially just and loving place."  In addition to monthly meetings they communicate on a regular basis on line as a Yahoo Group.

All Church Activities - We gather frequently to share a meal and program or celebrate together.  Recently over 100 people attended the 2007 All Church Retreat at Silver Springs in Ocala.
